Thankful for my pen

Late last night, I finally came up with the first line of my new book. I was expecting it - I've been waiting for it for a while - so you'd think I'd be ready to make a note, wouldn't you?

Sometimes, when I think of brilliant lines after I've turned my light off, I'm too comfy and try to remember it. It never actually works, though, so last night I put the light on, grabbed my pen and scribbled it down on the back of an envelope. Jut as well, because when I woke up this morning, I'd forgotten that I'd written it!

That's why writers always carry pens :-)

I am now listening to Ella Fitzgerald and reading about hearing voices, both for research.

I'm also thankful for the wonderful walk I had on Seaton Beach yesterday, topped off with a lovely hot chocolate.

It's a beautiful place, and so quiet the morning we went there :-)
