New short story alert

8/7/2021

The wonderful people at Fairlight Books have published my lockdown-themed short story All the Magpies Come Out to Play.

Don't worry, it's a positive and heart-warming story based on my experiences of the first lockdown in April/May 2020, written when the streets were deserted and birdsong filled the air because no other sounds drowned them out.

Has anyone else noticed an abundance of magpies over the last year or so? On my walks with Artoo, we'd see flocks of six or more on a regular basis, and that's when the story started to take shape.

Click here to read the story, and please let me know what you think!

Annalisa Crawford, Author

Dark contemporary fiction with a hint of paranormal
"Besides Annalisa's clever writing style, I enjoy the unpredictable plots and the characters that are so very normal, yet tragically broken in some way or another."
