Merry Christmas, everyone

19/12/2021

It's that time of year when I start to slow down, I seem to sit at my desk less often and be out drinking coffee (and cider) with friends slightly more, so I thought I'd squeeze in a round-up of my 2021 highlights.
  • The big one, of course, was seeing Small Forgotten Moments published in August - a story idea which has skulked around for many more years than I'd care to admit
  • Fairlight Books published my short story All the Magpies Come Out to Play in July
  • I almost doubled the readership of my newsletter, which was awesome. I'm giving it a fresh new look for 2022, so if you'd like to see what's going on, you can sign up here
  • I completed a new novel and I'm currently weighing my options
  • Despite spending the first three months on furlough from my day job, I've failed to reach my Goodreads Reading Challenge target of 25. I've managed 21, although there are a few days left of the year, so you never know!

Thank you to everyone who has bought a book this year - not just mine, but all the independent authors, small press authors and publishers, and - yes - the Big 5 (or is it 4 now?) mega-publishers. We all appreciate every sale, and I, personally, do a small jig when my Amazon and Kobo rankings increase.
And on that note
Artoo and I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas

Annalisa Crawford, Author

Dark contemporary fiction with a hint of paranormal
"Besides Annalisa's clever writing style, I enjoy the unpredictable plots and the characters that are so very normal, yet tragically broken in some way or another."
