Another month, another shortlist

2/7/2022

I was excited and honoured yesterday to see the announcement that Small Forgotten Moments has been shortlisted for this year's Gorsedh Kernow Holyer an Gof Publishers Awards. This is an award which seeks to promote and celebrate books about Corrnall or written in Cornish.

Small Forgotten Moments is set on the slightly overlooked (in literary terms, at least) south east coast, in a place called Seaton.

Introducing Small Forgotten Moments to the beach which inspired it

Although I already had some idea of the story I wanted to tell, walking my muse (otherwise known as Artoo) along this beach during the out of season months solidified my ideas. The area lends itself perfectly to the confines of Jo's amnesia and her emerging desire to learn what's lurking in her past. The cliffs in this photo and the gardens above them play a pivotal role.

The award ceremony takes place on 16th July. Good luck to all the shortlisted novels and their authors.

Dark contemporary fiction with a hint of paranormal
"Besides Annalisa's clever writing style, I enjoy the unpredictable plots and the characters that are so very normal, yet tragically broken in some way or another."
