Review from Martha Engber, author of Winter Light:
Ethereal moments drift through this ghostly novella about a girl, then a woman, trying hard to escape a life-changing, almost life-ending, moment in her youth. Quiet, chilling, this slender tale is absolutely thrilling! Annalisa Crawford has such a gift for twining the supernatural and surreal into reality so you don’t know which is which, a method that brings out the haunting nature of human nature. Eerie, yet wildly beautiful.

Cat & The Dreamer is 11 today 🥳 Before Christmas I announced that the rights to my first two books had reverted to me. Ever since then, I've been working hard to bring a slightly updated and refreshed version of Cat & The Dreamer to life. And, I'm almost there. With no fixed publication date yet - although I'm hoping for the end of March, start of April - I thought this would be a great time to show off the new cover. It's not like you turn 11 every day of the week!
The Clock in My Mother's House is officially launched today! It's available from all your favourite retailers just click this link! "[Annalisa] has the ability to really make the ordinary life seem fantastical and this is a collection you will not be disappointed by." - Katy the Sleepy Reader "A lovely eclectic collection of playful, poignant and haunting stories, hard to choose a favourite (although it might be The Fear of Ghosts), each one is a gem." - Anne Goodwin "Crawford is a skilful short story writer. In this collection, melding mundane life with the fantastical, she deftly explores the internal worlds of her characters, creating a haunting and frequently wistful collection of short stories that will possess the reader’s imagination long after the last page has been turned." - J.S.Watts Life can change in an instant, but that’s not always a bad thing.
A hotel explodes leaving staff and guests in peril; a woman retrieves an old clock from the attic with disturbing consequences; one man leaves heart break behind him, and another arrives to bring adventure. In this haunting collection, Annalisa Crawford creates characters who will charm, captivate, and intrigue you. I'm excited to announce that I have regained the rights to my first two books - Cat & The Dreamer and Our Beautiful Child - by mutual consent with my publisher Vagabondage Press.
Over the coming months I will be refreshing and relaunching the titles with new covers - and, for the first time, Cat & The Dreamer will be available as a paperback. I have always loved the stories contained in these books, and the characters who inhabit them. I am grateful to Vagabondage Press for taking care of them, and I'm looking forward to the next stage. How my books have changed since this marketing photo was taken in 2020! |
